Back in January 2024, Richardo Chardonnette, who was charged with the misdemeanor crime of resisting an officer without violence, showed up before the judge's bench alone.
His attorney — Miami lawyer Daryl Bobby Fenton AKA Daryl Fenton AKA Bobby Fenton — was seemingly nowhere to be found.
"Mr. Chardonnette stated that he had no contact with respondent, who was not answering his phone calls. Judge Faber called the phone number on respondent's pleadings, as well as a separate number listed on his bar member profile," a report from a discipline case referee report reads. "Judge Faber was unable to reach respondent."
The judge referred the matter to the Florida Bar, which promptly began investigating Fenton. But when investigators visited Fenton's Florida Bar address of record in Miami, they didn’t find an apartment or home.
They found an Irish pub.
"During the course of the bar’s investigation, it was discovered that respondent listed a misleading address as his record bar address," the report reads. "The address was that of an Irish pub where respondent was not authorized to receive mail."
The address listed on Fenton's Florida Bar profile is 91 NW First St. — the location of The Auld Dubliner Irish Pub & Kitchen in Miami's downtown neighborhood.
While a bar investigator found a residential address for Fenton at what the Miami Herald described as "a luxury high rise popular with Instagram influencers," court records show he was evicted from his unit there in April 2023.
In early February, the state's Supreme Court decided to disbar Fenton, in an action that will take effect Saturday, for a slew of reasons.
Despite being under delinquency — meaning he wasn't permitted to practice law in good standing — Fenton nevertheless engaged in the practice of law by filing a notice of appearance on behalf of a client, according to the Florida Bar.
While applying for reinstatement, Fenton claimed that he hadn't practiced law during the delinquency period. Then, when the bar asked for an explanation for the misrepresentation, Fenton failed to respond to investigators, according to the Florida Bar.
Fenton ultimately never responded to any bar inquiries nor participated in the process that led to this disbarment, according to the Herald.
