Ranked no. 14 on Time Out's Best Pizza in the World list, Eleventh Street Pizza is no longer a hidden gem in Miami — it's a global contender that now stands alongside pizza greats from Naples, Rome, Tokyo, Madrid, Cape Town, and Oaxaca.
From Fooq's to Best Pizza on Earth
Eleventh Street Pizza was born in 2021 when David Foulquier took his small restaurant, Fooq's, in downtown Miami and transformed it into a New York-style pizza haven. The shift paid off, and the pizzeria's popularity skyrocketed. Two years later, Foulquier opened a second location in Dadeland, nearly doubling the size of the original. It includes a more spacious, full-service experience, with over 40 indoor and outdoor seats for pizza lovers to enjoy."I grew up in Manhattan, so New York-style pizza is very much in my DNA," Foulquier told New Times in 2023, who co-owns the spot with his brother Joshua and partner Danielle Hultman under the company, We All Gotta Eat Hospitality Group. "During the pandemic, I really started making my own sourdough bread and learning that much more about what makes pizza great. I was getting really finicky about sourcing great ingredients and more. So, Eleventh Street Pizza was born, and now it's growing."
At Eleventh Street Pizza, it’s not just about the pizza — it's about getting it right. The menu includes traditional options like the "Classic Cheese" — which is the restaurant's best-seller, driven in part by having received an 8.2 score from Barstool Sports' Dave Portnoy shortly after opening in 2021 — alongside bold pies like the "Wild Shroom" with garlic confit, caramelized onions, and cremini mushrooms. For something a little sweeter and spicier, the pepperoni and hot honey pizza is layered with organic Bianco DiNapoli tomatoes, mozzarella, pepperoni, roasted red onion, Calabrian chili paste, and honey. All pizza can be ordered either round New York-style or as a Sicilian square.
Other house specialities include garlic knots, which include three freshly baked sourdough garlic knots with garlic, parmigiano-reggiano, and herbs; Fooq's meatballs, made with a blend of beef and pork, Bianco DiNapoli tomatoes, marinara, parmigiano-reggiano, and fresh basil; and a spicy caesar salad drizzled with a house caesar dressing with Calabrian chiles and sourdough breadcrumbs.
