Anybody want to purchase stale slice o' Trump history?

On January 22, 2005, Donald Trump married Melania Knauss in an erm, modest million-dollar wedding in South Florida.

The day's festivities commenced at the Bethesda-by-the-Sea church in Palm Beach and continued down the road inside the grand ballroom at Trump's Mar-a-Lago, where the couple unveiled a massive, seven-tier wedding cake for their guests. The dessert, which was covered in white roses made from sugar, reportedly weighed more than 200 pounds and cost a whopping $50,000.

It was so large that it had to be propped up by a wire, which left it inedible. So, the bride and groom instead provided guests with more reasonably sized "take-home" wedding cakes.

Nearly 20 years after the big day, one of the sweet souvenirs has surfaced online.

Preserved in its original box with the gold-monogrammed initials "M T D," a miniature "take-home" cake from the soon-to-be two-term president's third wedding has been listed for sale on Craigslist in Sebring.

The mini cake, which the seller claims has been reposing in his freezer in "pristine, like new condition" for almost two decades, is decorated with a frosting rose and two small 24-karat gold leaves.

The seller wants $1,000 for the stale slice o' Trump history. (Cash only.)

"The cake has never been taken out of its original box.... I have hung on to this very unique and rare collectible for all these years as a memento of that special event," the listing reads in part.

It continues, "This unusual listing/item has nothing to do with politics! My wife and I now have medical conditions requiring us to downsize and prioritize our lives. We hope to find a buyer who would like a piece of history, enjoy owning it, and with the intent to take care of it just as we have for the past two decades."

Several photos attached to the listing showcase the small cake — which does, in fact, appear to be in the advertised "pristine" condition.

As the seller notes, another of these bad boys was sold in 2017 by Julien's Auctions for an eyebrow-raising $2,240.

While the seller says they've been approached by auction houses to sell the small piece of cake, that would likely entail having to ship it to a facility in another state, which simply will not do.

"I cannot ship this very valuable item knowing that it would probably be damaged upon arrival," the listing reads. "Therefore, I am listing my Donald Trump-Melania Knauss individual miniature 'take-home' wedding cake only in the South Florida area so that I can directly hand off this extraordinary item to a local buyer."

Adds the seller helpfully, "If interested, make sure you bring a cooler to keep it cold as you travel home."
