A Palm Beach County mansion — which has yet to be built — has hit the market for a chill $285 million, becoming the "most expensive new construction home" in the U.S., according to Realtor.com. The property at 1960 S. Ocean Blvd. spans more than 50,000 square feet, including a beach house, guest home, and boat house.
The four-acre Manalapan estate offers eight bedrooms, 16 bathrooms, a shooting range, a bowling alley, car museum, golf simulator, padel court, spa, gym, and 8,800 square feet of "aquatic elements." We cannot forget to mention the staff quarters and two full kitchens.
The primary wing of the main residence alone will be 4,145 square feet. It will feature a private "pajama lounge." (New Times isn't exactly sure what that entails, but the paper can get behind that.) The master bathrooms will be complete with therapeutic showers, luxurious soaking tubs, and custom closets. "This estate is unlike anything the market has ever seen,” listing agent Nick Malinosky of the Exclusive Group at Douglas Elliman said in a press release. “Its sheer scale, impeccable design, and unmatched amenities make it a true icon of luxury living. This is more than just a home — it’s a statement, a record-breaking achievement that will forever redefine the standard of ultra-luxury real estate."
Even before you step inside, the front of the home will greet guests with a 3,200-square-foot pool. The backyard will be complete with a 3,700-square-foot infinity-edge pool with views of the Intracoastal Waterway, while other water elements will include "cascading waterfalls and tranquil lagoons." Developer and former Manalapan Mayor Stewart Satter purchased the property last March for $27.5 million. He is collaborating with home builder Robert W. Burrage of RWB Construction Management, architecture and design firm Choeff Levy Fischman, and Mark Tremblay of Marc-Michaels Interior Design INC.
“This estate is the culmination of vision, craftsmanship, and location, blending unmatched amenities with the tranquility of Manalapan’s coastal lifestyle,” Satter added.
If the sprawling estate sells for its asking price, it will break the record for the most expensive home sold in the U.S.
Hedge-fund billionaire Ken Griffin set the existing record in 2019 with his purchase of a $238 million penthouse in New York City with the help of the infamous Alexander brothers — Tal and Oren.
