Right-wing influencer and self-described misogynist Andrew Tate has landed in Florida from Romania after prosecutors reportedly lifted his travel restrictions.

The 38-year-old dual U.S.-British citizen and his 36-year-old brother Tristan — who were both charged with human trafficking in the eastern European country — boarded a private jet heading to the Sunshine State around 5:30 a.m. Romanian time on Thursday, a person familiar with the matter told the Washington Post.

According to CNN, Romania lifted its travel restrictions on the brothers earlier this month, following pressure from the Trump administration. Ioan Gliga, their lawyer, added that the brothers would return in March to fulfill legal obligations for their criminal case in Romania.

Internet sleuths used an open-source flight tracking site to monitor what appears to be a Gulfstream G550 jet, which took off from Romania earlier today and landed in Fort Lauderdale around 11 a.m. local time.

A video posted on X (formerly Twitter) appears to show the brothers walking off the jet and entering a U.S. Customs and Border Protection building.
Until now, the Tate brothers had remained in Romania pending their trial on charges including human trafficking and organized crime, which were brought against them in June 2023.

Among other allegations, the BBC reported that Andrew Tate (who notoriously believes that women belong at home, can't drive, and are a man's property) is accused of striking a woman during a sexual encounter and telling a victim, "Shut up you whore, you will do as I say," when she resisted his plan for group sex. Tristan Tate allegedly declared he was going to "slave these bitches" in reference to the brothers' OnlyFans operation.

The brothers have denied the allegations. As previously reported by New Times, they sued two of their accusers in Palm Beach County court, claiming to be victims of an extortion scheme by the women.

Son of chess master Emory Tate, Andrew Tate was born in Washington, D.C., and raised in the United States. After his parents divorced, he moved with his British mother to the United Kingdom and attended high school in Bedfordshire. He competed as a kickboxer in his 20s, then gained global fame and millions of social media followers by promoting a misogynistic brand, portraying women as possessions and sexual objects.

On Thursday morning, Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis emphasized that the Tate brothers are not welcome in Florida.

"The reality is Florida is not a place where you are welcome with that type of conduct up in the air," DeSantis said when asked about the brothers' arrival during a press conference in Bradford County. "I don't know how it came to this. We were not involved. We were not notified. I found out through the media that this was something that was happening."

The governor added that his former chief of state and newly appointed Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier will explore whether the state has any jurisdiction "to be able to deal with this."
